Mayatan Bilingual School

The Mayatan Bilingual School is a K-12 private school in Copan Ruinas, Honduras that provides high-quality education to Hondurans of all social and economic backgrounds. We were founded in 1991 by a local mother who wanted to give her children a bilingual education here in Copan. 20 years later, we have a student body of over 300 students (45% of whom receive financial aid) and a full-time staff of Honduran and American teachers.

We welcome volunteers who wish to help out in our classrooms. Activities can include giving lessons and tutoring individual students in need of extra help. We also encourage all volunteers to assist in another important way: seeking out financial support for our scholarship program.
