Manta Heroes play a vital role in the protection of giant Manta rays and pioneering sustainable ecotourism in Papua New Guinea. You will be living and working alongside the local inhabitants of Gonubalabala island. They are incredibly friendly and they can’t wait to meet & share stories with people from all over the world.

Initially you will help to build a SCUBA diving and educational centre. We will take you diving to some of the best dive sites the world has to offer and teach you how to ID the giant Manta rays. The data we gather will be vital for their protection & we hope to make some ground breaking discoveries along the way!
