SLV Bali Mental Health Placement

SLV hosts a volunteer mental health program in Bali, Indonesia every summer for 4 weeks. During the course of these weeks, volunteers will spend half of their time in a psychiatric facility to gain hands-on experience with mentally ill patients. During the other half, we will be working with special needs individuals and teaching English to the local community. After being interviewed and learning that I’ve made the cut, I’ve never been more excited for anything in my life. This is a golden opportunity for me to gain hands-on clinical experience and help others in need. Being able to afford this journey would also strengthen my application to medical school and bring me several steps closer to my goal of becoming a psychiatrist.
